Transformative Partnerships

Long-standing partnerships that result in impactful collaborations and are integral to our school’s vision and ethos. Many of these partnerships lead to innovative action research projects that are developed, tested, and evaluated within the Trust before being shared more widely with local and national schools. Through these collaborations, we contribute to educational development while continually enhancing outcomes for our pupils and communities.

We are extremely proud of our 10-year partnership with the Royal Ballet and Opera. Beyond the entitlement to experience world-class ballet and opera performances, GLC children have rich opportunities to explore the work both on and off stage through a wide range of experiences linked to the curriculum and future careers. The GLC has also continually hosted performances and co-created events for Thurrock, providing meaningful cultural experiences for the local community. Alongside this, we have jointly developed a series of action research projects that have been rolled out across schools in Essex and beyond, extending impact far beyond GLC pupils into wider educational communities.

Impact:

"I just wanted to send a heartfelt thank you on behalf of myself, and the RBO team for your huge efforts for our research project. It has been a real pleasure to work with the you, other staff at the school, and your amazing students, to explore some of the outcomes of the Create and Dance programme in more depth.Royal Ballet and Opera."

“The evidence is compelling: dance doesn’t just improve wellbeing, it builds community, nurtures resilience, and inspires joy”

Impact:

"The GLC has worked with Youth Voice to share feedback and suggestions with the Kinetika T100 team around employing creative approaches to capture community voice. This was acknowledged as a key recommendation in the T100 2025 activity report, and it has prompted us to reflect and expand our evaluation methods which are one of the key mechanisms by which local community members shape our programmes. Improving this side of things has ultimately strengthened how we understand and respond to the needs of our community."
